Antique Notched Limestone Trough
Long carved limestone trough. Chisel marks on exterior. Rectangular shape interior, worn smooth with age.
Many troughs were set into field walls so that they can serve stock in two fields. The notches located on the top were most likely from sandstone dividers or bars that went across the middle. No drainage holes but can easily be added for planter use.
