Founded in 1988, New England Garden Ornaments is the largest and finest garden ornaments source in the northeast. With over 6000 sq ft of showroom space and an additional quarter acre of display area outside, NEGO is one of the most extensive resources in the United States for important garden antiques as well as unique handmade artisanal reproductions.
From its beginning, New England Garden Ornaments focused on developing relationships with exceptional small foundries, dry cast stone makers, and artisans across England, known for the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. Over time, NEGO's collection grew to include American and European antique ornamentation, furniture, armillary sundials, custom-created fountains, statuary and antique architectural elements. Local stone carvers, metal workers and potters showcase their works in the gardens and gallery.
Today New England Garden Ornaments is owned and managed by Gray Baldwin, whose love of antique garden ornaments, history and travel is clearly evident in her showroom and on her website. Gray has combined her business background from MIT's MBA program, with a skilled eye for fine garden ornaments. She travels far and wide to find the extraordinary pieces she is known for; with over 2000 pieces in inventory, there is something for everyone.
Clients such as The Trustees for Reservations, the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, the Preservation Society of Newport, the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, New Jersey Botanical Garden and Tower Hill Botanic Garden have chosen New England Garden Ornaments for design consultation, special reproductions and to purchase important garden ornaments for their collections. Many noteworthy gardens have our pieces on display. We've been asked to lecture at The Arnold Arboretum, Tower Hill Botanic Gardens, The Roche-Duff Museum, numerous garden clubs and organizations throughout New England.
Containers of statuary, benches, armillary sundials, urns, pedestals, birdbaths, English lead and cast stone fountains arrive several times a year from the UK. As well, contemporary pieces are carried to complement the traditional and antique ornaments at New England Garden Ornaments' Sudbury, Massachusetts location. The design team creates distinctive water features and vignettes in the showroom, utilizing the unique mixture of antiques, reproduction pieces and interesting salvage finds. We offer specialized attention, consultation and delivery — across the street and around the world. Contact us to see how easy it is to add a beautiful ornament to your garden!
