Large Adamesque urn in English lead.Classical lines make this a typical decorative English lead finial of the 18th century. The original piece was designed by Eleanor Coade, circa 1780.

Since the earliest time, urns have been used decoratively and the variety of their design is infinite. In gardens they have been much used from the Renaissance on wards. Urns as garden ornaments are stately, classical, and can be made in many different materials. They are perfect alone or in pairs and can be left empty or filled with plants and greens.
